Signatures remain a powerful authorising method - Forgeries in government grants

Every now and then it is worthwhile reflecting on the power of a signature.  With biometric mechanisms and electronic registrations evolving, the signature is sometimes discussed as being obselete.  

This is simply not the case, and the fact that a signature can be the basis of obtaining significant funds through Australian government grants is a very good example of why vigilance when assessing signatures remains relevant.  

A signature will remain a powerful authorising method for years to come.
